Hi everyone,
I just got off the phone with Missy and I have the update from their meeting with Dr. Gilbert. The pathology report indicated that the tumor was the same type as before and had not upgraded. The good news is that Dr. Gibert is not recommending radiation. However, he is recommending monthly chemo treatments for hopefully no more than 24 months. The chemo is the same type as before and can be done at Emory in Atlanta. Brent and Missy will continue to travel to Houston every 3 months for an MRI and to meet with Dr. Gilbert.
The VPs have had a nice visit with Kathy Rizzo. She and the boys made paper airplanes, played Legos, and made shrinky dinks while Brent and Missy met with the doctor. Then she and Missy went for a nice lunch while Hugh took Brent and the boys out for ice cream.
Kathy and Brenda will be heading to the airport around 3:00 pm today. The VPs are very sad to see Brenda go. She has been a huge help and Missy is not sure what she'll do without her mom there. We all know she will do just fine since she is such a strong lady, but Brenda will definitely be missed!

Thank you for the update. I imagine that like most people reading this information, I am sad that you wonderful people have to go through this another time. But at the same time I feel good that you have great doctors and they will help you take care of this crappy illness. You have an amazing support system of friends and family back in Atlanta and we'll help you get through your treatment the best we all can. Please know you are constantly in our thoughts and prayers.
