Monday Update

Hi everyone,

I finally had a chance to talk with Missy & Brenda to get an update on how they are all doing. They moved into the home of Hugh and Anna Ronalds on Saturday. It sounds like the perfect place for Brent to heal and strengthen. They have 3 dogs (Rags, Romeo, and Max) and a cat (Kitty). They boys have loved having so many pets around and Zack has decided that they need to get another dog when they get home. Hugh and Anna have been so welcoming, generous, and supportive. I know Missy & Brent feel so blessed that they opened up their home to them.

After the VPs moved, Brent had a horrible rest of the day on Saturday. He was in a lot of pain and was very nauseous. He pretty much spent the day in bed. The set back was disappointing, but was a reminder of the major surgery Brent just had and that he is going to need time to recover and heal. Sunday was a little better. Brent and Missy were able to go to lunch and to the grocery store. They also sat outside and watched the boys play with Hugh and Anna. Did I mention they live on a lake? They took the boys out on a row boat, played on a surf board, and fed ducks & fish. Luke tried to catch minnows, but what he really wants to catch is a catfish!

Bill, Missy's dad, left yesterday. They were all sad to see him go, but they will drive through Pensacola on their way home so they will get to see him again soon. Brenda, Missy's mom, will leave late Wednesday night.

Today seems to be another rough day where Brent is in a lot of pain. Missy spoke with the doctor on call and they are planning to change his pain medication and put him back on steroids which should help.

Hugh is taking Missy and the boys to the Braves vs. Astros game tonight which they are all excited about.

Wednesday, Brent & Missy will meet with the neuro oncologist and will hopefully get information from the pathology report. Please continue to keep them in your prayers. Brent & Missy have been using the following prayer - feel free to use it as well...

Our After Surgery Prayer: Pray...

- For strength and courage as we prepare for the pathology reports and treatment plans

- For medical wisdom from Dr. Gilbert

- That Brent will heal quickly and doesn't suffer any side-effects from surgery

- That the tumor will not ever come back

- For Zack and Luke to be strong during this time of change in their lives

- That this episode will be a footnote in our lives when we look back on it 30+ years from now

- And to believe that miracles happen and Brent is one of them.
