Hi everyone,
Great news! Brent is out of surgery and on his way to recovery. Dr. Levine completed the surgery and gave the initial assessment that the tumor is most likely the same grade and type as before. This is the best news they could have hoped for. They still have to wait 2-3 weeks for the official pathology report. After that, they will know the next steps.
Brent is expected to be in the hospital for 2-4 more days. He will be taken to a regular room (not ICU) after recovery. This is also great news because Missy will be able to stay with him tonight and the boys will be able to visit.
Missy just called the boys to give them the good news and we could all hear them screaming "Yay!" through the phone.
A special thank you to Susan Fister for being so supportive and helpful this morning. She is a volunteer at the hospital and helped us all get settled in.
Thank you for all the prayers, love and support. Brent and Missy really appreciate it and could not have faced this without all of you. A special thank you to those who attended the prayer service at Mount Vernon Presbyterian Church this morning. We smiled through tears at the picture of Bailey and the "Expect Miracles" bracelets.
Expect Miracles...Brent is one of them. With God involved, miracles happen. Our prayers have been answered.
FANTASTIC News!!! We are so happy to hear this!!! We will continue praying for a speedy recovery!

You don't know me but I have talked to Brent this past year as director of the Rookie league at NYO. I also know a lot of his friends from UGA that were Pikes. I have been keeping up with things via the website here that Kevin O'Keefe sent to me. From a long distance outside of your close circle of friends know that a lot of others know and are praying for Brent, Missy and the kids as well as the doctors that you have entrusted your care to. Glad to see the news tonight of your successful surgery and we are here for you guys back in ATL.
ReplyDeleteWhat wonderful news! We've been praying for you all week and will continue to pray for a speed recovery. Take care Mis! We love you! ;-)
