Update

Hi everyone,

Thanks so much for all the support for Brent, Missy, and the boys. The meals and playdates and just words of support are very much appreciated.

Also, I wanted to provide clarification on the "Van Putten" fund that was set up through Dunwoody United Methodist. One hundred percent of all that is donated will go to the Van Puttens. In addition, it is a tax deductible donation for you and non-taxable for the VPs. Let me know if you have additional questions.

Now for an update on the VPs. Brent's week of taking the chemo pills went as well as could be expected. He is having a few side effects and they are working with Brent's doctors to try to alleviate them. Brent has his next doctor's appointment on the 21st for blood work, monitoring, etc.

Zack and Luke are at VBS this week at Mount Vernon Presbyterian Church. They are happy to be with their friends and Missy's happy that it provides a bit of "normalcy" for them.

Thanks for continuing to keep the Van Puttens in your thoughts and prayers.

One way to help...

Hi everyone,

I wanted to share some information that was forwarded to me by a mutual friend that Missy & I share in Atlanta. As you know, Missy & Brent picked up and moved with the boys to Houston for several weeks for Brent's surgery and care following his surgery. They have and will continue to incur extensive medical and travel expenses over the next few years and beyond as Brent undergoes chemo monthly and regularly travels to Houston to be monitored.

As a way to support the Van Puttens, their friends and church community have set up a fund through Dunwoody United Methodist Church. Donations will be accumulated and forwarded to the Van Putten family on a regular basis. Donations made to the fund are tax deductible and tax receipts will be sent for any donation in excess of $250.

To contribute, you may mail checks (made payable to Dunwoody UMC)to:
Dunwoody UMC
Attn: Finance Department
1548 Mt. Vernon Road
Dunwoody, GA 30338

Please be sure to write "Van Putten Fund" on the memo line of the check.

Thanks for your consideration!
Meg

Happy 4th of July!

Happy 4th of July everyone! Brent started his chemo last night as planned. He was napping today when I talked with Missy. Please continue to keep him in your thoughts and prayers as the chemo effects start kicking in.
