Hi everyone. This is a message from Meg (Missy's BFF) and Brenda (Missy's Mom). We're sitting in the waiting area at MD Anderson with Jon (Missy's brother), Russell (Brent's dad), Bill (Missy's dad) and Lynn (Bill's wife).
The weekend was a busy one for the VPs. They were joined throughout the weekend by family and friends, including a surprise visit from Brent's long-time friend Steve Berman. Everyone (except for Meg who got stuck in Atlanta with a delayed flight) got together last night for a pizza dinner at the hotel and were entertained by Zack and Luke who performed a skit.
Missy is back with Brent right now talking with the anesthesiologist. She should be out in a few minutes. Brent is scheduled to start surgery at 8:30 am. We should have our first update from the surgeon by 10 am.
The boys and Christian (Missy's friend from VA who came to town to help out with the boys) are planning to go see Kung Fu Panda 2. If I know Christian, she has a bunch of other fun activities up her sleeve.
Please keep Brent and Missy in your prayers today. Specifically...
- for medical wisdom from the Doctors and rest of the staff
- that God literally guides the hands of the surgeons as they perform the operation and that they get the entire tumor and Brent suffers no issues afterwards
- that Brent heal quickly and that the tumor will not come back
